Over many years, Rory’s contribution to the festival has been immense. Using his amazing powers of persuasion and his impeccable contacts, he has persuaded dozens of well-known folks to come to Melrose in the summer: John Cleese, David Frost, Victoria Wood, Michal Parkinson and many more. But these miracles are not his main contribution. Rory’s gifts as an entertainer and his warmth as a man are what underpin everything.
