Information

Craftivism, or activism through craft, adopts a quiet approach to protest. It focuses on creating handmade gifts crafted with empathy and kindness, with politicians, business leaders or other decision-makers as their intended recipients.  Since founding the Craftivist Collective in 2009, award-winning activist and author Sarah Corbett’s ‘gentle protest’ approach has directly helped change hearts, minds, policies and laws around the world. She has collaborated with diverse organisations from Save the Children to The Climate Coalition and the Victoria and Albert Museum and enthusiasts of her work include Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai and the architect of the Paris Agreement, Christiana Figueres. Join Sarah in conversation with writer and broadcaster Gemma Cairney, as she shares some of the projects, stories and methods for your gentle protests in her lovingly produced The Craftivist Collective Handbook.  This is a book for anyone who wants our world to flourish and is up for the adventure of becoming a thoughtful, loving changemaker.
